about the photographer

As an artistic and an inherently creative being, I have incorporated fine arts into my everyday life. Photography has been an important aspect of 'being me' since I was about 12 years old. I have been developing in this area for the last 10 years and focusing intensly on growing my skills for the past five.

The physical components of a photograph - the interplay of light and shadow, the colour, and composition - are very important elements. However, I view timing as the most important of all. Without timing, the photo is just another still life. Capturing at the right time though, makes the photo come alive!

With proper timing, you capture the light of a fast fading day as it brushes leaves with gold, or the first blush of morning kissing the mountain peaks with rose, the wonder of a new hoar frost before it melts away with the sun, or the Milky Way positioned "just so" above a feature in the landscape. With timing, you catch the fleeting look of adoration in the eyes of a new father as he holds his baby, the joy of a shy smile between newlyweds, the oft hidden shenanigans of siblings...

Time waits for no one. The moment is there, and then it is gone. That is why I believe that timing is one of the key elements of making photos truly, a precious memory. Each of these moments compose small glimpses of what life is made of. In the end, each moment of life becomes like a note that creates a song over time that you can look back over and remember- hence the name: LifeSong Photography. I strive to capture each of those moments as they happen so that they are not lost to the inevitable passing of time.
